Synopsis:

Shot in scenic locales all over the U K and Europe, this is the story of Raj (Shah Rukh Khan), a London based young man, who’s led a charmed life, brought up in the lap of luxury. He meets Simran (Kajol) on the Euro Rail and falls deeply in love with her.
She reciprocates, though both are aware that her father, Chaudhary Baldev Singh (Amrish Puri) has already fixed her match with a childhood friend's son. And Papa’s word is law.
Raj is not willing to marry Simran without the blessings of both sets of parents. The action then moves to Punjab and to the roots of the immigrant community, in search of the values that sustain those who live far away from their homeland…..
